Several weeks ago I shared my favorite snack in my weekly email and encouraged you to let me know yours. Heather McClees from the Soulful Spoon sent me her decadent cacao maca truffles. These were so delicious, I wanted her to share them with you.
Heather and I met ‘online’ when she posted a glowing comment on my “Why you’re seduced by food” article for mindbodygreen. I was so honored, I contacted her to say thank-you. When I looked at Heather’s blog, I noticed we shared many similar views and aesthetics. We are both advocates of a clean eating and believe that emotional eating issues are often directly correlated to what we eat each day. Heather has some wonderful stories on her blog and I hope you check them out – soulfulspoon.
In Heather’s words, here are the reasons why she loves her cacao truffles:
These truffles are my favorite raw food snack and I usually have around three in the mid-afternoon. They are rich in superfoods, high in energy nutrients, contain very little sugar, and taste rich and indulgent. They are also abundant in healthy fats, vitamins and minerals, protein, and specific nutrients that balance the blood sugar and regulate hormone levels in women and men.
I designed these cacao truffles to help the body rebalance itself and improve mood. I specifically used cacao and maca as the star ingredients in these truffles.
I’m a huge believer that what we feed our body is how we feed our brain and our spirit. Thank you for letting me share my recipe with you and thank you to Dana for allowing me to!
I hope you enjoy these truffles as much as I do!
Eat well and be blessed
