Dehydrated Apple Chips


Organic apples, scrubbed clean




Core apples and slice using a mandoline (I used the #2 setting). Dust with nutmeg and cinnamon. I don’t use sweetener because I think they are perfect without. These can be dehydrated at 145F in a dehydrator for 6 hours or in the oven at 200F for 4 hours. Flip halfway through.

A while back I made a pack with myself – to live with intention and engage proactively in my life. Like most inspiration, this desire for change came from feeling unsettled and unhappy – I felt as if life was passing me by and I was too busy and stressed to give it a second thought. Creating rituals is a way in which I have found more purpose, clarity and joy in my life. Apple picking was at the top of my seasonal list, but I may have been a bit too eager because I picked nearly 20 pounds. Needless to say I went on a cooking spree. Apples are fantastic fruits – they contain phytonutrients like quercetins that slow down carbohydrate digestion and improve insulin responsiveness to help and steady blood sugar levels. Blood sugar balance is important for steady energy levels, minimizing sugar cravings and fat loss. Please enjoy my bounty with me – my top four favorites are:
